About the UNH Energy Club

The UNH Energy Club is a group of students interested in learning more about energy. Students from all disciplines are welcome to join the club. We educate ourselves and the community on energy from a holistic viewpoint, learning about generating, transporting, storing and consuming energy from a technical, legal, and social point of view. This education will come from networking with professionals, embarking on educational trips, supporting energy related projects across campus and doing some educating ourselves.

Origins:

The UNH Energy Club was formed as a UNH recognized student organization on Monday, October 6, 2008. The club is a non-profit and non-partisan group. We keep an open mind here in the Energy Club and we don\'t try to persuade anyone towards any particular technology or product. Our goal is to educate based on facts so that you can form your own opinions!

Seminars:

The Energy Club has started a seminar series. We have had a number of professionals from industry come in to educate us about their field. The Energy Club feels that the relationship with the presenters should be a mutually beneficial relationship. We will do all the advertising for the seminar. Each presenter will also get a short biography in our newsletter and on our website so that those interested in attending can educate themselves about who is coming in to speak to us. This will allow for the audience to prepare better questions and make for a more interactive experience. If you or someone you know is interested in presenting, please send an e-mail to: unhEnergyClub@gmail.com .

Trips:

The UNH Energy Club has gone on a trip to Schiller Station in Portsmouth. We will be scheduling more trips in the fall semester of 2009. Future trip possibilities include the UNH Co-generation plant, UNH EcoLine, Seabrook Station, GT Solar and the Lempster Wind Farm. More information will be available as the trips are scheduled!. If you have any suggestions for a location that the club could visit please email: unhEnergyClub@gmail.com .

Stay In Touch:

The UNH Energy Club has a mailing list! We send out our newsletters once a week during the school year and contain information regarding upcoming events, educational links, club happening as well as internship and job opportunities. If you wish to be added to the mailing list then send an email to: unhEnergyClub@gmail.com with subject \'Add to mailing list\'.

There is already a lot going on at UNH regarding energy. Our goal is to become a hub of energy related information for UNH and the seacoast area.
